"Up, up, to get a breath of fresh air" Epalinges by e-katarina

Epalinges Travel Guide: 3 reviews and 1 photos

Epalinges is situated to the north of the Canton of Vaud's capital, Lausanne. A bus ride from Lausanne's town center, this beautiful village situated at an altitude of 800 m. in average, enjoys the proxmity to all comodities as well as to woodlands and nature.

Mainly a place of residence, you can also enjoy many walks in the various woodlands.

On foggy days, the altitude usually means that you are above the clowds. It also means that it is colder than its neighbour Lausanne and that in winter you can expect a lot of snow depending on the years.

Historically a lot of farmland covered the surface of this now flourishing commune. Today it houses those who wish to be away from the noise of the town and yet who do not want to go too far. It offers great possibilities to its population whether it be sports, education or events.
