I was on the CIEE Russian language program in St. Petersburg from June-August 2004. Since I have spoken Russian to some extent for my whole life, I'm not sure how much I managed to improve my fluency over the summer, although I definitely learned a few new words... in any case, I got to know the city of St. Petersburg and now I'm here to share my experiences. |
We studied at Smolnii Institute, where there is a center for Russian language and culture studies for foreigners. |

Hmm, I am a citizen of former Soviet Union, now citizen of European Union, more precisely Latvia and I have to pay exactly as much as other Europeans - Brits, French etc. so it is really not about who you are not who you were. | RDT2000 Thu Feb 21, 2008 22:01 UTC
