I was on the CIEE Russian language program in St. Petersburg from June-August 2004. Since I have spoken Russian to some extent for my whole life, I'm not sure how much I managed to improve my fluency over the summer, although I definitely learned a few new words... in any case, I got to know the city of St. Petersburg and now I'm here to share my experiences. |
We studied at Smolnii Institute, where there is a center for Russian language and culture studies for foreigners. |

hunterV Fri Sep 19, 2008 15:35 UTC Thanks for sharing your observations! | Von_RIX Wed Feb 27, 2008 12:43 UTC Hmm, I am a citizen of former Soviet Union, now citizen of European Union, more precisely Latvia and I have to pay exactly as much as other Europeans - Brits, French etc. so it is really not about who you are not who you were. | RDT2000 Thu Feb 21, 2008 22:01 UTC I left a note on this subject elsewhere. But people need to know that what we foreigners pay is comparable to, if not less, than we would at home. Russian prices are adjusted for their income. | RickinDutch Mon Jan 30, 2006 19:05 UTC Great to-do tips for St. Petersburg. Thanks! Birthday greetings from Alaska! |
