I had never been in a helicopter before so where better than Niagara for a first ride?
It does not last very much (about 12 minutes total flight time), but is worth it as it is a great view. Read the route desciption below.
We were alone in the plane, so we both had an excellent view, it was just too bad the weather was not good. As you can see from the picture the sky was very grey and so was the water. I'd love to try it again in the summer.
It was not expensive either, we paid 75 CAD each.
"Niagara Helicopters" is on the Canadian side.
From the website: "Beginning with the Sir Adam Beck Generating plant and the Niagara Parks Commission School of Horticulture, the tour follows the Niagara River from the Whirlpool area (look for the Spanish Aero Car crossing the gorge), over the Whirlpool Rapids and the Rainbow Bridge. The green grass and floral beauty of Queen Victoria Park stretches below as the helicopter passes by the American Falls and the Skylon Tower. Just when it looks as if you may reach the Minolta Tower, the helicopter begins to change direction as if following the curve of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls! Rainbows appear and disappear from all directions. The helicopter begins to level off and continue along the route back to base."
