Typical Holland

The Netherlands are known for several things, such as the canals, the narrow houses, the "polders", the cows, the cheese... and the flower fields.

Lisse is a great place to see some of the nicest fields in the country

Keukenhof

Lisse is also home to Keukenhof, a very famous, yearly flower show. There you can see a great variety of flowers and arrangements. Check the tip for further information

The city

As per 2003, there were 21.924 people living in Lisse, of which 6 Portuguese, 4 Swedes, 2 Peruvians and 4 Chinese... (source: http://www.lisse.nl/).
It is located close to Leiden and is quite easily accessible by public transport.
There aren't very many attractions apart from the fields and Keukenhof, so you will probably only see tourist here during spring.
