Krakow/Crakow/Crakowia... nobody seems to know exactly how to say or spell the name of this city (although I have it on good authority it's pronounced 'Krakov').
I was sitting at home one day and realised easyjet had introduced some new routes. I could go to Krakow very cheaply so booked a one way ticket and a return a fortnight later from Slovenia. I backpacked between the 2 and this was the first time I'd been travelling on my own, without my friends.
What a great place to start. Krakow is a beautiful city with amazing architecture and buzzing nightlife. The people I met were great (most of them).
Unfortunately, in November there was lots of renovation work being done to the Old Town Square so I missed the whole beauty of that and the Fire Breathing Dragon was colsed for winter too so I was none too happy about that!
Anyway, go to Krakow! And whilst you're here you must go to Auschwitz too... |

| Pros: | "Can take the whole city in on foot and can happily get lost in it" | | Cons: | "If you're not Polish you may have trouble getting into some nightclubs" | | In A Nutshell: | "A lot better than Warsaw (or so I've been told)" |
