It is something we all do... we spend all our holidays heading off to some place else on the globe and neglect our own county. Without doubt, the Scottish Highlands is the part of the UK which is most outstandingly naturally beautiful and the Isle of Skye nears the top of the list in this part of the country.
Despite being extremely remote, the Isle of Skye is a very popular holiday destination in the summer months (well... for the 50 days a year that it doesn't rain up here) and you'll be much more likely to bump into an American, Dutchman or Spaniad than a Scot but this doesn't take away from the fact that this island is a compete natural gem and roaming it is an adventure.
Wether you like climbing, hiking, photography, musems, sightseeing, driving of drinking this island has something... just make sure you wrap up warm, the wind up here always means that you'll have to keep your coat on. |
