This is a view of the University. The buildings themselves are not very impressive, very 70's style, but the green grass and changing leaves of the many trees, the big sky full of greys and blues and heavy clouds, this is why I love living here.
It is very different living in a place rather than travelling through. I am identifying myself with this location, associated Limerick with my life experience. There are those who would argue that a college life hardly counts as knowing the culture, and I would say... perhaps you are right. I am far from being Irish, or understanding the Irish, but I treasure the friends I am making here and I value the insights that does come from living in Limerick.
My heartfelt thanks to all of those people who have helped me in this new chapter in my life. I only wish I could share it with you more fully. |
