South East Maluku - Indonesia With around 17500 islands and only about 6000 are inhabited, Indonesia is the best place for island hopping experience. .. Ngur Bloat is just an example of a beautiful beach where the sand is as soft as baby powder... the coast line stretches for miles and you can have it for yourself... since's it's still uncommercialized.. i hope it will stay that way until at least the next 100 yrs..... psst.. don't tell anyone esle pls :) |

Raja Ampat - Papua Indonesia - Where the fish live The Raja Ampat, or “Four Kings,” archipelago encompasses more than 9.8 million acres of land and sea off the northwestern tip of Indonesia’s West Papua Province.
Located in the Coral Triangle, the heart of the world’s coral reef biodiversity, the seas around Raja Ampat possibly hold the richest variety of species in the world.
Being labeled as the "undewater amazon" and "where the fish live", Raja Ampat archipelago also offers dramatic above the water scenery.
I left my footsteps and my heart in Raja Ampat...
| | From the green ricefield to the blue ocean I am really lucky being an Indonesian. Coz my country is blessed with tons of beautiful palm fringed beaches, rainforests and mountains that stretch from Sabang ( Sumatra ) until Merauke (Papua). Yes Allah be praised for creating such a wonderful tropical paradise. Well, I have to say that we're also doomed because Indonesia lies between the Ring of Fire along the northeastern islands adjacent to and including New Guinea and the Alpide belt along the south and west from Sumatra, Java, Bali, Flores, and Timor. Therefore we're prone to earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. But then life would never be dull and boring in Indo {^_^}v.. |
Boat taxi Being the largest archipelago in the world with 18,000 islands, boat is the common or most of the time the only mode of transportation that connects from one island to another. In big cities like Jakarta, motorcycle taxi is very very common. It's really helpful esp. during rush hour where the traffic jam can drive you nuts and you're late for a meeting or appointment. Motorcycle taxi can wriggle its away along the jammed road, but it's not for those with heart problem. It can be classified as fear factor challenge.
Bahasa lesson: Ojek = Taxi (only applies to boat and motorcycle). Ojek Station = Pangkalan Ojek (only applies to motorcycle)
