sayville's new Nassau Page

I just came back from a cruise which included a day at Nassau. We dock at the pier and and were off to explore all day. Our first adventure was taking a boat to Blue Lagoon to play with the dolphins. We would have prefered to swim with them, but we were told you need to book that 6 months to a year in advance. They have sectioned off areas where they take about 20 people at a time to meet the dolphin. Every family has a picture taken with the dophin kissing one of the family memebers. Then in smaller groups, they have the dolphin come up to each person to hug, dance, kiss, rub his belly etc. While doing this there is a photographer who takes some pictures which you can later buy at a high price. They got me to buy 4 of them. After all, it is a once in a life time experience for most.
After several hours here, it was back to the ship for lunch. Then to the straw markets. From there we took a water taxi to Paradise Island. First stop was the Atlantis Hotel. What a huge place. To big for me, but beautiful. The kids and I went to the aquarium there. A definite stop if you are there. You can just walk through the aquarium for free or ask for a guided tour which i think is about $25. We did the do it yourself tour.
Then it was off to the beach. Dont plan on using the Atlantis beach as you must be a hotel guest to go out the door to the beach. We had to walk up the road a bit and there was a path to a "public beach". We took a swim, dried off and back to the ship we went. This time we took a car taxi so we could see some of the town, plus we were to tired to walk to the dock for the water taxi.
The stores in the area of the pier all close by 6PM. So if you plan on shopping you must do it early.

I took plenty of pictures. Im waiting for them to come in so I can post them. Give me a few days.
