Stunning View after Stunning View Canyonlands National Park is comprised of three sections, The Needles, The Maze, and The island in the sky which is the section I visited. This section of the park is not extremely big and if you stick to the paved roads you can budget about a half a day to see the main attractions. There are hiking areas in the park to take advantage of. Unfortunately for me I didn't have too much time to spend at the park so I wasn't able to do any walking but something tells me that i'll be back in Utah sometime. Utah is simply an amazing state! |
| | Mesa Arch One of the main attractions is the Mesa Arch. The arch is approximately50-60 feet long and perched on the edge of quite a large canyon. I'm not sure if crawling up ontop is encouraged (probably not) but I couldn't resist. The park ranger was telling me that sunrise is primetime for photographers as the underside of the arch is bathed in a vibrant red glow as the sun rises. Sadly for me, the ranger told me this at about 8am, 2 hours after sunrise. |
