In my opinion, the Mandalay Bay casino is the nicest looking of the hotels judging by the outside. the shimmering golden look comes from the tint which has been infused with actual gold. the casino was very elegant and there wsa a tram car that connected this casino with the luxor and excalibur. Mandalay bay is the casino located furthest south on the strip.

Things To Do: Bally's

There was nothing especially appealing about the Bally's casino. It didn't appear to have a particular theme so in amongst the other huge resorts on the strip, Bally's to me, seemed a little plain and bland. it is connected to the Paris Casino which does have a little more flare in my eyes.

The Bellagio is without a doubt, one of the more upscale resorts on the strip. It has a number of attractions within including the gallery of fine art which currently has an Ansel Adams photography display, botanical gardens and of course the famous fountains in the lake in front of the hotel. Take a stroll around the casino and just soak up all the luxury.

Caesars Palace is on par with the Mirage and the Bellagio as representative of the height of luxury. The casino in Caesars is in a word, immaculate! It seems like no expense was spared when building. There are beautiful fountains and roman style decor around every corner. Simply walking around this casino is a treat in itself.

The excalibur hotel and casino is really one of the more unique looking casinos, modelled after a medieval castle. Inside The casino is extremely large and has a knights of the roundtable type of theme. there is a large midway within that those who've come to shop will enjoy and there is both a walkway and motorized tram that connects excalibur to luxor and mandalay bay.

Things To Do: Fantasy show

I didn't really know what to expect when I went to see the Fantasy show at the Luxor. It is a topless review so its definately not for the entire family( leave the little ones at home) but I found it interesting that the crowd was comprised of just as many females as males. To be perfectly honest, i was somewht bored with the show. Yes, there are pretty girls dancing topless on stage however this is more appealling on paper than it is in person.

The fountains outside the Bellagio hotel are a sight to behold. People line the outside of the lake for hours just to watch. The lake has been installed with hundreds of fountains which spew water as high as 40 feet into the air. The hotel plays music on the speakers that surround the lake and choreograph's the fountains to dance to the sound of the music. At night the effect is simply magical to watch the fountains bathed in lights.

Things To Do: Hooters Casino

Yes, there is now a Hooters casino believe it or not. The hotel is built where to San Remo used to stand (across the street fromthe MGM) and by Vegas standards, the casino is quite small. What i liked about the casino was the laidback atmosphere. It was as if you were in one giant Hooters restaurant. This is the largest concentration of the famous hooters girls that are employed at any one place, some 250 girls. Even some of the dealers were hooters girls. Overall, a cool casino to visit.

The MGM is the biggest hotel on the strip and apparantly the biggest hotel in the world. At over 5000 hotel rooms it is sometimes difficult to find your way around. The hotel is home to a number of attraction such as the lion habitat and club 54 and several theaters playing a revolving door of acts and shows.

A visit to the mandalay bay shark reef is definately worth while. The shark reef is home to a wide range of species which you can see in my travel log. The highlites of the shark reef are the sunken ship display which gives a panoramic view of an absolutely huge tank from the bottom up and the small pool filled with stingrays and nurse sharks where you can stick your hand in and actually pet them!
