Recently I visited one of my favourite Australian tourist spots, the Whitsunday Islands. My two favourites are Hayman and Hamilton Island.

Hayman caters to our inner star, with every luxury catered to - it truly is a holiday for those of us wanting a little (or a lot!) indulgence. Perfect for a honeymoon, the pristine beaches are lovely for relaxing on and Hayman features world-class cuisine, particularly at La Fontaine. And if you dare, there is the Worlds Largest Cocktail to be tried at the Beach Pavillion!

Hamilton Island is more for our inner party animal! Featuring a number of lively restaurants and bars, "Hammo" parties long into the night. The island also makes as a great base for the ultimate Whitsunday Island holiday as you can book dozens of day trips out to surrounding islands or to the reef.

Scuba divers and snorkellers - this is the place to do it! Whether its just off the beach (visibility is not great) or you spend the money and head out to one of many coral gardens, the reef has to be seen to be believed! I booked a trip out to ReefWorld (a manmade pontoon in the outer reef catering only to divers and snorkellers) and spent about half an hour scuba diving - it was breathtaking!
