Dunfermline is seen now as an industrial and a shopping town. It was however once the ancient capital of Scotland and many of its former glories are still to be seen.
Malcolm III and his queen, Margaret, held court here in the 11th Century. Their reign was to bring about a turning point in the history of the kingdom.
Margaret was to found what was to become Dufermline Abbey, which is still to be seen today. What remains of her shrine, destroyed during the Reformation, can still be viewed as well
- Pros:Historic and Modern
- In a nutshell:Nice place for a visit
