| | Fleeting Visit My second visit to Inverness, and again only a flying visit. Shock, horror at all the ugly concrete, after seeing all the beautiful scenery on route. Also couldn't bear to part with more than a pound for the car park (pay for car parking in Scotland - whatever next - hope it dont, catch on!) which bought me precious little time. I would echo the views of other scribes on these pages and say that it is a good place to get stocked up to visit the more interesting places nearby. |

| Pros: | "Good raod, rail and air links, plenty to see nearby" | | Cons: | "Too many tourists, busy, high car park charges" | | In A Nutshell: | "Great place from which to explore the highlands" |

JessH Sun Feb 3, 2008 10:43 UTC Hi Steve. Will be visiting my in-laws in Inverness this August, and then drive down to Edinburgh for the festival. Really enjoyed your tips & gorgeous photos; thanks for sharing! Greetings from the desert / Jess in Dubai :-) | derwenter Sat Jun 17, 2006 18:21 UTC that's a long way up north! | RhineRoll Sat Jun 17, 2006 10:06 UTC Great Inverness tips! It will always remain a puzzler to me why the Scottish/Gaels are so obsessed with Flora MacDonald helping that foolish drunkard Bonnie Prince Charlie | hunterV Fri Jun 16, 2006 19:40 UTC Hello, Steve, you have great stories and marvellous pictures! |
