Loch Ness is without doubt one of the most famous lakes in the world, and each year many tourists are drawn to its shores. It would be nice to think that they all came for the magnificent scenery, but no they usually come for just one thing - the monster!
Unfortunatley, the world wide fame of Loch Ness owes more to the legend of its famous occupant, the Loch Ness Monster - or 'Nessie' - than the breathtaking location of the loch itself.
Bit of a shame really, because there is quite a lot to see and do in the area and most people just come for a look at the loch, visit the museum, take a few photos, and head off for their next destination.
