Flying Visit To The Seabird Centre

by stevezero - last update: Jan 17, 2005

Scottish Seabird Centre, North Berwick
Bass rock, From North Berwick

More than the seabirds....

North Berwick lies at the South of the Firth Of Forth, where it meets the North Sea.
It is an attractive seaside resort with a pretty harbour.
The town grew as a resort in the late 1800's, probably due to its close proximity to Edinburgh, which is easily reached by rail or road.

Maybe next time....

Unfortunately we only had time for a brief visit, being on the way to Aberdeenshire, The weather was also pretty foul, so I am looking forward to returning soon, with more time and hopefully a bit of sunshne.

Maybe the Ruthven's did work on Dirleton, but the De Vaux built it.My cousin insists we are descended from them, which is why I really felt at home there: ha ha.

I love North Berwick - I used to live in Musselburgh and used to escape the place by hopping on a bus and exploring the more exciting Nth Berwick - a beautiul place with some great cafes.
