Stonehenge, it's a place i have wanted to visit for years, but never quite got around to. But a long winded tour down to the south west and here we are - it's on the way, or sort of!
A lot has been writtten on Vt about the fact that its expensive, and you can't get near the stones anymore and so it's a rip off. I must disagree here as I came away satisfied after a walk around the ropes, but then I did not have to pay the admission price.
It certainly is a place of mystery, and one of the iconic images of the Uk., but alas visited only briefly by most people. One tour we saw arived stayed for about 10 minutes, took a few photos, and boarded the coach for the next destination on their whistle stop tour (Stratford-upon-Avon maybe?)

Hi Steve, a nice page with useful information! It is good to learn the English terms for the different kind of stones and their functions! I am going to Stonehenge in February and am curious to know if I will like it or not :-)
