We visited the Maori village of Whakarewarewa, with its thermally heated public baths, geysirs and treacherous lakes of boiling water.
Lake Rotorua
Rotorua lies beside a lake of the same name, with tranquil shores and many black swans and other waterbirds. Also nearby are many forests, nice beaches and plenty of sites with thermal activity.
