In the clouds
A breath of fresh air

Nuwara Eliya is situated some 2000 metres above sea level and is the main hill resort of Sri Lanka. It lies at the heart of the tea industry there.
Once the favourite hill station of the British, Nuwara Eliya still retains the vestiges of Empire: a blend of Tudor and Georgian architecture, gabled roofs, immaculate lawns with rose bushes and moss-covered gravestones. The town is often still referred to as "little England"
It is good place to escape to after the heat of the lower ground as the air up here is fressh and musch cooler.

Your description of the Hill Club is spot on!! It is like going back in time- the hot water bottles in the beds are the finishing touch!! jeananne

It was a great experience for the family. This period of the year July/August offers varied weather,it rains, very windy with bright sunshine. Highly recommended, tranquiility at its best. A courteous army of staff lead by Mr. Fedrick

This definitely looks like a relaxing spot up and away from the coastal heat. Quite a unique hotel too, located in the old tea factory!
