It is a small place in the Prati area, not far from the Vatican.Runned by wife and husband team (Stefania & Arcangelo) it is one of the best places in town where to try great local recipes with a modern touch.
They have a good selection of Italian wines and olive oil.
Pasta and bread are home made.

This is a good place in Rome, near the Largo di Torre Argentina-Campo de' Fiori area where to stop for very good roman dishes.
Very simple decor, friendly service and very good value for money.
    It is closed on Monday

    Enoteca Corsi: only for lunch

  • Restaurant Name: Enoteca Corsi

This is a very old and well known simple place, open only for lunch, located not far the Pantheon.
The menu is always the same, but here you can really enjoy local recepies.
This is the italian version of a fast food and the service can be occasionally rude if they need your table for someone waiting in line.
Very simple decor, no wine list and no table cloth.
Closed for dinner and on sunday

Favorite Dish: This might be a full roman menu:
Puntarelle olio, sale, pepe ed acciughe
    Bucatini all'Amatriciana
    Saltimbocca alla Romana
    Tarallucci al vino
    Caffe espresso

Make some practice with your dictionary book to translate it and let me know!!

Al 59: great home made pasta and bolognese souce

  • Restaurant Name: Al 59

Many people know the Restaurant called "Bolognese" located right on the Piazza del Popolo Square, but this is also very good and much less expensive and more quiet being smaller.
Manager Marco Graziosi is top class, knowledgeble and patient. He speaks good english and will help choosing from the good(not huge) wine list.

Favorite Dish: Here you have to try any of their fresh, home-made egg pasta dishes(tortellini, tagliatelle, ravioli ....) and the famous "Bollito", several kind of meats boiled and served either with green souce or original fruit "mostarda".
These are all recepies from Emilia Romagna Region(See Bologna).
    Also desserts are home made

FiorFiore: Pizza a Taglio (sliced/cut Pizza) Very Roman!!

  • Restaurant Name: FiorFiore

This old bakery place, was turned into one of the busiest place in the Spanish Steps area, especially at lunch time, where you can get one of the best Pizza a Taglio in town.Other then the very simple options(tomato souce only, tomato & mozzarella) you also have several toppings available.
The place is not huge, but there are few tables inside and outside.
    Salads and drinks also served.
The staff is very fast and overall professional.

Favorite Dish: My favorite Pizza are:
    Broccoletti e salsicce
    Funghi e mozzarella

but they are all very good and served as soon as they get out of the oven.If you like it "HOT" there is some chilly peppers self service.

In summer time they also have good home made ice cream.

  • Restaurant Name: Antico Forno Roscioli

The Roscioli Family is very well known in the area for the bakery shop they have around the corner, but they did a very good job here.
Relaxed atmosphere, soft lighting, great selection of italian cheese and very good wine bottles. Here you can also buy food to take away: Ham,Cheese,Salami, Olives and many italian specialities.

Favorite Dish: When I am not in a rush and I found myself in this area, I like to sit down at one of their little table, sip a glass of red Lazio wine, eat some local bread and cheese and read a book.

Gusto: Lunch in Rome for 9 euro!!

  • Restaurant Name: Gusto

    Gusto
    Piazza Augusto Imperatore 9
    (Not far from Spanish Steps)
    Tel.06.3226273

There is a self service buffet (or a pizza instead) where you can help yourself(once only!!) and then sit at one of the many tables available inside or outside. The waiter will serve you a drink and bread basket (included in the price). For 50 p. extra you can also get an expresso coffee at the end of the meal. Wine is extra and you have a little selection served by the glass.

Upstairs they have a proper restaurant for those who have more time and money available.

Great gelato tip! I've been only in Old Bridge, from the ones you mention, and so far it's the best gelato I've eaten! I'll check the other places when I return ;)
