    • The Kriminalmuseum, or Medieval Crime Museum, is worth an hour or two of your time. The collection traces the development of European law over 1,000 years. While most of the torture devices are grim, there are also quirky exhibits such as a "flute of disgrace" for bad musicians and a "neck violin" for pairs of quarrelsome women who needed help in seeing eye to eye. There are all sorts of torture/humiliation devices for premarital sex.

    • This Christmas Market is a must simply because it's so cute. It's very small, but because of its location in a quaint medieval town, it makes up for it in atmosphere.

    The best time to go is nighttime, when all the tour bus crowds have dissipated. Grab a crepe for dessert or have some Gluhwein.
