"KL Chaos!" Kuala Lumpur by idy

A Caucasian friend of mine was sitting alone in a bar in KL, enjoying a drink and the 'live' band, and he was approached separately by 2 ladies. They asked if he would buy them a drink. And then put their hand on his knee and offered to give him a massage in his hotel room. He fled the place after just 1 hour.

Hee hee hee ... I thought it was funny. I guess it is a land of contrasts and contradictions. And I know there are many people who like it this way.

But other than get solicited, there're lots of things to do in this busy city. Shopping and eating top the list, and visitors should not miss Jalan Alor, Petaling Street and Bukit Bintang. My favourite place to visit was the tranquil Lake Garden area, where the city's bird park is.

There're also a number of heritage and historical sites to visit, such as the Independence Square, Masjid Jamek and selected museums.

Getting around the city is easy using the light rail system, but may be a confusing, as the system is not integrated. This means there are several different companies operating the different lines, and so, when you want to switch lines, you need to exit the station and find your way to the other station. So it really helps to have a map!

Keep an eye out for some colourful KL foliage!
