South Finistére

by elgin99 - last update: Apr 7, 2005

Riec-sur-Bélon

Riec-sur-Bélon
The Finistére in the intersection of Atlantic and the English Channel has a row of wonderful sceneries. Even if in summer on the coast are many tourists, nevertheless, one can find everywhere a remote village with his typical stone houses or a piece of untouched nature scenery.
A walk to quiet and romantic bays, like here with Riec sur Bélon in the southern corner of the Finistére, brings relaxation and contentment.

During main season there are many festivals. Music and dancing - like in Pont Aven, the town of Gaugin (see the tip).

Would you like to see and hear a short movie sequence of one festival, Breton live music? Click here and enjoy!

Pointe Du Raz

Pointe Du Raz

The Finistére offers sandy beaches or gruff, rocky coasts.
The top of Point du Raz and the lighthouse of La Vieille give amazingly perspectives for waves which thundering against the rocks.

Romantic hours at the sea, gruff rocks, Celtic culture, art, Breton joy of life, rural idyll, impressive castles, plants and animals of the mild sea clime... One should already have time if one decides by itself for a travel to Finistére.

Evening sun
