About my home region, tours, family and me | evening on Wachkopf, Tabarz |
Welcome to my homepage, friends! On this first page I would like to introduce myself.
I change that start picture time by time. Always it is one of my favorite, because of the theme or only if it is a special likable shot, most are of my homeland. All former start pictures are to be seen in my external websites. Here is the Main Page |
| | TABARZ, my homeland September 2006 I moved back to my homeland of childhood and youth, to Tabarz. There I grown up, but left first when I was 19 years old, studied in Leipzig. After study I gone the "normal way" of a young people in former GDR, married, children born, searched for my goals and did my jobs. I lived in some parts of Thuringia. But I mean Tabarz is one of the most beautiful landscapes of Thuringia, a gate to Thuringian Forest.
Tabarz is a nice town with specific charm, a long tradition by tourism and numerous marvelous town houses. Remotely and famous towns like Eisenach, Weimar, Gotha or the capital of Thuringia Erfurt are not far from Tabarz. Very important for my whole education and development (more than study) was my school time in a special and traditional humanistic school named Salzmannschule. One travelogue of Thuringia Page includes details and history of this interesting and unique school, close to Tabarz. |
| | MY FAMILY I'm very proud of my family. My daughter and her family still lives in my former homeland, in Southeast of Thuringia. My boy lives in Vienna together with his girlfriend Dorina (from Budapest). Both visited me at first days of the new year 2008. We spent also his birthday together. It was the first time all of my family been together since very long time. That picture shows my daughter, my son, me and my granddaughter, was made 2006. |
| | ME and my profession I'm a jurisprudent. But more I like it to produce movies, making pictures - to see through the "eye of camera". So I found my second profession. If you would like to see more about that profession and something more of my pictures , please, visit my websites. Main Page with links to Gallery No.1Gallery No.2 |
| | THURINGIA - some facts The Free State of Thuringia is located in the middle of Germany, which is borderd from Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt in the East and Northeast, Bavaria in the South, Hesse in West, Lower Saxony in Northwest. The state is also very close to Czechia in East. The capital is Erfurt. Thuringia has last 2,54 Mio habitants and the extent is similar to Schleswig-Holstein. Thuringian mountains (Forest) is up to nearly 1000 ms. The famous mountain way named Rennsteig is 168 kms long and leads always along the height of mountains. Thuringia is called "The Green Heart of Germany" because of its well wooded region. Bigger towns are Eisenach, Erfurt, Weimar, Jena and Gera. Near to my hometown is Eisenach, border town between Thuringia and Hesse. There you can visit the famous Castle Wartburg. Something about these impressive castle (UNESCO World Heritage) you find also in my tips of new page about Thuringia. Another pictures I uploaded into that album WARTBURGThuringian tourism, official website |

| | VIENNA In September 2007 I visited my son in Vienna. Oh, what a long time without him... one year without a meeting, too long. It was a fantastic time there. Vienna is great. The architecture is very impressive! The town is very alive and sooo beautiful.
Strongly I have to update my pages about Thuringia, Tabarz and the new one about Vienna, but I was and am so busy at time. Please, have patience and sometimes a look for my pages.'ll give my best! *lol |

| | Recommended Day Trip in Thuringia That's the place for several day trips across my home region. Here is the next one.
Winter tour with sports - Inselsberg
If you miss snow in the town Tabarz or around, be sure you will have a lot on our mountain Inselsberg. Only 3 miles from Tabarz you will find that winter scenery which you wish by heart. Our walk today is that one to Steinernes Amt (view point, rocks) and good place for winter sports (ski run, toboggan run), next up to the top of mountain. Your way to reach the parking place by car: to Tabarz A4, B 88; from Tabarz L 1024 Inselsbergstrasse, first big parking place right of the street;
You have to take the middle one of the three ways which you see at the end of the place. It is a short tour , and at the end you cross the toboggan and ski run, right down the begin of lift. Down to right you find some rocks with fantastic view across the landscape, place is named Steinernes Amt.
Ski-run informations: Length: 2160 ms (1130m-blue, 875m-red, 155m-black) mountain/valley station: 900/720 MSL run level: easy-middle-difficult single ski tow
If you follow the way straight on across the ski-run you reach a point (from which I shot that picture left) you can rest. From there you have a nice view up to the mountain peak. Follow the signs up to the peak, across the upper part of ski-run. |
