"A Magnificent Mountain Holiday spot." Sinaia by reezal

Sinaia famous for its mountain ski resort is situated between Ploiesti and Brasov cities. Distance from Bucharest Otopeni Airport is 80 km and distance from Brasov is 50 km.

King Carol selected the Sinaia resort as Royal summer residence.Also well known as "Carpathians Pearl" and is situated along Prahova river valley, into Bucegi massive Carpathian Mountains.

Peles Castle

It was the first castle in Europe to have central heating and electricity. During Ceausescu's era, its 160 rooms were used as a private retreat for leading communists and statesmen from around the globe. US president Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford, Libyan leader Moamar Gaddafi and PLO leader Yasser Arafat were all entertained by the Romanian dictator in Pele's fanciful rooms, each furnished to reflect a different European country.

Construction started in 1875, completed just months before the king died in 1914.(what a pitty) More pictures in my travelogue.
