The City...

Burj Dubai along Sheikh Zayed Road
A friend once asked me 'Hey why is Dubai building all this high rise for? The locals seems to be a minority here, why or who the heck these buildings for ? Funny how it seems.

Dubai as seen in the map looks like a tiny place where some used to remember it as a small fishing village or a trading village.

Dubai has changed dramatically ever since and today it boasts hundreds of skyscrappers such as - at the moment world tallest hotel The Burj Al Arab (7 star) to Burj Dubai with a height extimated around 900m after completion.

Dubai in future could turned out to be Middle East non gambling Las Vegas with stranged and obvious neon lighting within sky scrapper building along the famous Sheikh Zayed Rd.

These astonishing Architectural building are all built closed to the Sheikh Zayed rd and more or less stretching all the way to Abu Dhabi.

Still Dubai is developing but for now, most major project has been given a pulled - hand break due to economy slump as of late.

According to the media/ local resources, yet to be build sky scrapper such as the Dynamic Tower, a 80 stories building with selected rotating floors, Donald Trump Hotel, Hydropolis an underwater hotel and others are stalled due the ‘wait & see’ situation like some other developing countries.

Dubai development is notorious for being huge, longest, tallest and etc. The Waterfront development (stalled too) – a city able to accommodate 1.5 million people when completed. Couple with 50 over hotels and 200 plus Commercial area in this proposed city.

I could imagine if the economy slump did not take place, I will be able to witness a HUGE & expensive development city within a city. How can one imagine in such a small place like Dubai, growth in another 5-6 years will be drastic.

I sometimes left to wonder, is all this necessary?

Clever ! So if you are out of budget for accomodation, fret not, stop by the bus stop in Dubai ; ))

I heard from my cousin that the expats have dumped all those luxurious cars they 'partially' owned at the airport the last couple of months & have fled Dubai since!
