China town

I can't really tell if the folks here are chinese. But yes makati do have a china town like most country. Here is a shoppers delight with lotsa stores selling variety items range from jewelery, herbs, clothing, chinese food/ restaurant and other chinese stuffs.

Directions: Rizal avenue in Sta Cruz and Quezon Blvd in Quiapo are major arteries served by most jeepneys. By LRT, alight at Carriedo station. Or walk from Sta cruz.

Oldest fortification - Fort Santiago

This historical fort is recommended for most tourist visiting makati/ manila. This fort is a 16th century military base defense structure over looking the city river. Inside here you may find the Rizal shrine, the memorial cross which is the final resting place for approx 600 filipinos & americans who were victim to the atrocities during the last days of Feb 1945, dungeons, media naranja and etc.

Preservations work has been done towards this fort in order to maintain it's century old structure. Still the fort do provide a understanding on the political, cultural, religious & commerical centre of Spain's empire in the east.
