Kapas is little island not more than 20 minutes away by boat from the sleepy village of Marang, Kuala Terengganu. This little paradise is just off the Terengganu coast and is a pleasant getaway for the all especially the locals during weekends.

But yet I still find weekdays can be surprisingly quiet which probably due to competitor from the next door beaches like Redang or Perhentian which is more commercial than Kapas.

Kapas is a rather a small island. Round the island via boat would just take about less than 1/2 hour. Since it is so close from mainland the locals seldom stay overnight. For those who prefer to spend a longer time on the island, there are a variety of accommodations available on the island. Most resorts are facing the mainland, whereas the rest of the island are nearby the forest which have a little bit of birds, insects and reptiles.

Don't expect much of sea activities here but there is wonderful snorkeling spot around the long stretch of beach.

The water here is rather shallow for some reason as such it’s quite appropriate for snorkeling. But just be careful on the thorny thingy on the sea.

Anyhow for a quite getaway Kapas maybe recommended for beach lovers.
