London Hotel Tips by OiKnow

We arrived a little after 9:00 AM after an overnight flight from the USA and the hotel was able to check us in imediately. We went and took a couple of hours nap, freshened up and and spent the afternoon exploring the British Museum. The hotel is located on a tree lined street in a quiet residential area. The hotel has completed a recent and total renovation of the guest rooms and was quite comfortable. The room was larger then normal for London (where hotel rooms are tiny.) The bath had been redone and with top of the line fixtures. The air-conditioning worked fine. The hotel cater's primarily to tourists including large tour groups. The lobby was congested when the groups were comming and going. The rate that I booked did not include breakfast. The add on price at the hotel for the breakfast buffet was 19.95 GBP, (that is over $40 USD per person.) We skipped that (are they nuts?) and walked up the street three blocks and had a delightful breakfast in a small bakery. Overall the hotel was comfortable, clean, and quiet. Yes I would stay there again.

Directions: Quiet residential area. Tree lined street walk toward the Holland Park tube station and you will find local shops and restaurants. Located between the Holland Park and Shepherd's Bush tube stops.

This hotel opened in the fall of 2006, so it is new, in a new building, resulting in it having modern conviences and amentities of a first class hotel. It is located across the street from the London Bridge Train Station and Tube Station (we could see, but not hear, trains from our room.) The rooms are good sized and are furnished in a very modern style with dark woods. The bath was very large, with top of the line fixtures and stone and tile finishes. The guests were a mixture of business travelors and tourists. Reception was efficient and very friendly. The hotel is located between London Bridge and Tower Bridge, make sure you have the address of the hotel with you, I found a taxi driver who did not know where the hotel was (it is relatively new.)

This was the nicest hotel I have stayed in, in London. I liked the fact that it was not overrun with tourists. The hotel is new, comfortable and impecably maintained.

I booked and paid in advance on a non-refundable rate and the room cost me just over $200 USD per night, for two people, without breakfast.

Unique Qualities: The hotel is new, very modern in style with large bathrooms, and very comfortable furnishings.
