Included in our air fare was 1 night in a choice of two hotels in Bangkok. We opted for the Mandarin Hotel which was approx 1/2 hr drive from the airport. Once in our room we slept for a couple of hours before setting off for a bit of sightseeing which included a trip along the Chao Phraya river. Walking around the streets of the city wasn't a pleasant experience as the traffic was so bad and breathing was quite difficult due to the fumes. The heat was intense, very draining so it was nice to get back to the cool of the hotel. |
