Saint John Travel Guide: 20 reviews and 48 photos

I was married on Hawksnest Beach in July , 2004 (by Anne Marie Porter, a terrific minister) and you couldn't ask for a more beautiful spot for a ceremony. This particular beach has no facilities whatsoever (unless you include the small dirt parking lot and the single port-a-potty) so it is wild and unspoiled. Anne Marie had suggested Hawksnest to us and we are so glad we chose it. We were actually staying on St. Thomas but St. John is so much prettier. Magen's Bay in St. Thomas is supposed to be one of the world's nicest beaches but Hawksnest is 50 times more beautiful. I can't even describe how clear and blue the water is. We were watching rays and fish swim from the edge of the water. It gets very hot there in July and by 9:15 we were sweating! The plus side of going in the summer is that it is the offseason and prices are lower and there are less cruise ships. Some attractions, however, are closed or run infrequently during the offseason, which can be a bit of a bummer if you had your heart set on something specific to do.

Thanks for the information. Is the steering wheel on the right of the car cabin (like in the UK)?

Nice page! This place looks so much warmer, sunnier, and peaceful than my Saint John!
