Mbeya is a fairly ramshackle town as you can see from the pictures, and we had to take care that we didn't trip over or fall into holes in the road. However, the people that we met were all friendly.

Our son and his wife live in a bungalow not far from the city centre with a very attractive view out to the mountains, and we spent a few days staying with them there, as well as a couple of nights at Lake Nyasa.
