"architecture around the world" kaha's Profile

This summer we will be taking a group to Rome and other cities in Italy to study the art and that has had so much influence on the western world.
My wife is an art historian who complements my experience in architecture and construction. I like to think of Italy as fabulous sights connecting great places to eat.

Last summer we team-taught a course in modern architecture based in Madrid, Spain. For anyone who has not been, you will be amazed at the quality of the new architecture, the richness of the history, the friendly people and of course, the tapas.

I currently spend half my time onn the Big Island of Hawaii, developing alternative architecture.
My goal is the provide examples of buildings that exist lightly on the land, respect the native ecosystems, and generate their own power. This January the first of four adjacent acre sites will be in full operation. Meanwhile, the ocean and crickets provide the soundtrack, and shooting stars are the TV show.
