Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler!-Which means let the good time roll... And indeed it was...New Orleans, Louisiana is a place of culture diversity and traditions...A journey of realm away from the ordinary. My experience in this trip was a mixed of fun and disappointment. When our plane landed at the New Orleans International Airport, my husband and I were anxious to get off the plane.. We have been flying for almost 6 hours and cant wait to get to our hotel and take some nap! anyway, It was hot! I mean..Scorching Hot! I think it was over a 100 degrees that day.. So,we got off the plane and met our driver to take us to our hotel. Everything went well, our hotel was beautiful, the lobby is well decorated and some part of the railings were in gold finish! Im not kidding! The hotel lobby is fabulous!
So after a couple of short cuts, my husband and I went to this place called "French Quarter" and this is where the fun story begins...Well, the French Quarter is the heart of New Orleans. Shops, Gallery, Old Mansions and Restuarants are all over the place.. We got to this street called Bourbon and boy it was scarry! Passing through this street gave me a creeps! the music were loud, people were drinking like there is no tomorrow, nude poster were hang everywhere (strip clubs), the garbage were everywhere and the smell is disgusting! But some part of our French Quarter tour on the horse carriage were just beyond imaginable! The horseman took us to some expectacular places told by history, and places that you wont ever see in regular basis. Our experience in New Orleans sure gave us something to talk about and laugh. |

JetlagCity Sat Jun 25, 2005 16:44 UTC Very different from most of the New Orleans pages I've read, but it's important to be prepared for the down side of a city, too, so thanks for the tips. I think it'd be hard to really enjoy this place if you couldn't eat the local food. |
