| The Number 1 Bridge, from Orange Island |
The Han Tomb of Mawangdui In 1978 the Herald Sun in Melbourne Australia reported a startling discovery in Changsha, china of the very well preserved remains at Mawangdui. These mummified remains intrigued both my grandfather and I, so much so that when I was offered an oportunity to come to China, I chose Changsha to be the first city for me to visit. Thus started my ongoing love affair with China, it's people and its culture. |
Orange Island Changsha is split by the Changjinag He and in the middle of this is a delightful island called Orange Island. Local stories intimate that it was a favorite spot for the youthful Moa Zedong to visit and compose poetry in his grass script style. |
