Don`t be fooled into taking a taxi especially those limousine taxi`s. They quick to offer there service telling you there is no other means of transportation closeby. I would say rather ask 1st before jumping in with them and if you have to take a taxi then you might as well just take a normal taxi. Yes you get taken to your hotel in a fancy mercedes benz for about 35S$ whereby you could have just jumped a bus or a train which might even stop infront of your hotel.

Fun Alternatives: I would say find out 1st if there is a bus service or train that goes close to your hotel. Singapore is very safe and I don`t think you`ll have a problem if you have to walk 100m or so to your hotel with your luggage. Instead of paying 35S$ you could maybe pay 1S$ for the same trip.
