Gorgeous and calming | Manarola from the path above town |
Manarola is the second (from the south) of the Cinque Terre villages. It and Corneglia seem to be more peaceful than the other towns. Everything you need is here - a couple good restaurants, a pharmacy, two little well stocked stores and an ATM. The train stops to the south of town and you have to walk through a pedestrian tunnel to get into town. This helps keep everything very quiet. There is a little piazza on top of the train tunnel and this provides one of the only flat areas in the entire town. You can watch little children ride their bikes here.
There is a path that you can access up near the top of town. This takes you on a nice walk around and above the town to the north. There are great views of the town from the path. The path then connects into the coastal path that heads north to the next village. |

gin1031 Thu Jun 5, 2008 14:24 UTC Did you have a view of the sea from your balcony? We are going in September and we are there for 5 days so we want to view the sea from our own terrace. Thanks! Gin |
