"Vacation FROM Key West" Bahia Honda State Park by mosbyk

Bahia Honda State Park Travel Guide: 32 reviews and 70 photos

I used to spend a lot of time in Key West, my girlfriend at the time had a younger sister that lived there so it was free to stay. But I always loved heading just north to Bahia Honda. I don't know if it has change but back then in the late 80's it was EMPTY! We would be on the beach for hours and see at most 2-3 people. A real vacation from the insanity of Key West.

A photo of the Railway Bridge destroyed in the 1935 Hurricaine. The Railroad was known as Flagler's Folly afther the tycoon that built it.

Vacation FROM KW LOL. The bridge at Bahia Honda wasn't destroyed by the hurricane though - that bridge was farther up in the Keys.
