Ive arrived....arms in the air! About the quickest city break - considering the distance - Ive ever had. Flew over to Prague for a short two night weekend, from London, UK....complete with a city map and my mate Simple Simon. Spent both days - and evenings - in the city center.....by day..... walking, eating, looking....by night....dinner, drinks, pubs, and clubs. Mornings came early! Although I like a good night out like the next guy...we did make a good attempt to get around during the day, considering our tight schedule. This short stay gave me a taste for a more extended adventure in this interesting counrty. Enjoy! |
| | One great building following another The architecture in prague is certainly something to behold....around every corner, through every slim street, the buldings creep up and display some of the coolest features Ive seen. Of course many of the structures date back to the 1500's and have been preserved (you could say) quite well. Roadways, aly ways, lanes and walking paths are all paved with small square mini bricks.....this workmanship seems to go on and on. The sights make the city, one big museum! The people make the experience very pleasant and inviting. |
| | Good Value! ....at least for the next few years. In relative terms, prices in Prague range from very inexpensive to average. Some restaurants, eateries or food stalls provide a great meal for a very decent price. We ate at a couple true czech restaurants and very much enjoyed ourselves....food for two with a couple pints cost about $8 Canadian ea......quick food suck as pizza or sausages start around $1.50. Beer....served in pint glasses - pilsner - was one of those things on the cheaper side. Pints cost $1...at the store, at the bar or even club. Mixed drinks were usually substantially more. Lots of head on the beer though...thats how they pour it....same in Holland. Mmmmmmm good though! Cheers and eat well! |
