There are noodle vendors all over the city....everywhere you go at anytime of the day or night...they serve everything as well....most things I would have no idea what the actual food was.....we did get comfortable with the noodle people....choose which noodle and they go to town mixing and pouring and doing all sorts of stuff for about a minute or two and then your eating. I think they try to call it pad thai (or sometimes they do anyway)...however I dont think that is actually the dish....more like noodles with vegetables....throw in an egg if you like and off you go. The price ranges from 10-15B.
If you look close at the pic, Im actually the one cooking....the nice lady let me step in and cook up the dish for Amy...that was kinda fun...typical Thai....be nice and kind and they will let you do whatever you like...pretty much.

Favorite Dish: There is but one dish....what you see is what you get.

Center Khoa San and Irish Pub: Not bad food not a bad view.....

  • Restaurant Name: Center Khoa San and Irish Pub

Like all places, serves Thai and western food. Lots of waiters hussling (and I say tha lightly) around. They were great at orders but not so great at taking the dishes....reason being is that its not a bad place to chill and people watch, read or chat...but it would be ice to have a clear table afterwards...geeze picky eh..
Watch out sitting on the roadway/sidewalk tables...lots of people selling stuff and it can be annoying.
Beer specials every couple days..it was 4 Tiger for the price of 3 one day.
Opened early for breakfast and one of the last places to close in the evening...actually I think they were serving past the 12:30 closing time on Khoa San....ya thats right, if this is the first you have heard of this, the road does close down at 12:30am. Everything is made to close and turn off the lights....I dont know why exactly ,but it was wierd....you could still chill on the street if you wanted...well into the morning.

Favorite Dish: I ate a bit there....some western stuff....breakfast was ok, sanwiches were ok, Amy said the thai was ok.....so well, I guess the place is ok.
If you need something quick or dont want to venture to far off, just grab a seat. The prices here seem to be a bit lower than other places on Khoa San....beer 20-30B cheaper, food maybe same same.
Not a bad spot all around.

McDonalds: Global reach of fast food!
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • Satisfaction:
  • Restaurant Name: McDonalds

Not that Im a big fan of this....and how cliche going all the way over to Thailand and eating a meal at a McDonalds....Well, sometimes the fast food giant provides a little taste of home....can help when the stomach is a little touchy upon arriving or at some point passing through BKK....I had a big Mac in Chaing Mai one time....believe it or not it actually straightened out my appetite which was getting a little sick of the stir fry! Also on Koh San....Burger King...I think there is a pizza hut around as well......anyway, something for everyone.
    :)
One meal is ok....multiple meals at a fast food place....youd best keep it to yourself! HAHAHA.

Favorite Dish: Same menu as home...same taste to!
Staff way more efficient then in North America......looked like they really like their jobs.
