The Grand Palace

Stand tall now....what am I looking at?
Bangkok can be a magnificent place to visit (albeit very hectic)....but if thats your kind of thing OR its something you can handle for a few days....then you are bounde to see and do some very intersting things....from walking around, to a Tuk Tuk excursion, BKK is a place that will amaze you, shock you and even impress you. Be open to experience and walk far enough off the path to get a taste of something new.......with that said....one of the coolest places we visited in the city was the Palace....
Took one afternoon and went to the Grand Palace. 250 bht to get in and (although some taxis/tuk tuks) will tell you differently, the palace is open everyday......EVERYDAY....from 8-3:30. Entry is 250Baht pp (Unless youre Thai - free).....give a couple hours to look around....it is just awesome!
I was totally surprised how cool the buildings, attention to detail and how intricate the art is.....simply amazing. Most certainly a must do in Bangkok!
Cool Bridge over the River.

A big city Bangkok is....

Thie view of the river and the different water traffic.....the huge bridge for cars....A bit overcast but none the less hot during the day.....this picture was taken the third week of December from the waters edge. There are commuter boats you can take from many departure points and not too confusing from what I understand....we ended up touring around via long boat (see things to do section) which was a bit more expensive but a nice hr trip in, and about, the small waterways. In any case, Bangkok had many different aspects and areas of varying economies..sic.
Tuk Tuk....

Where you going?

Tuk Tuks are everywhere in BKK....and they can either be your best friend or your worst enemy.....well the drivers are always your best friend theres no doubt about that....even when they rip you off they smile!
Be cautious but have fun too...the drivers can take you to some cool places for a very cheap price.
Watch out though for scams.....its ok sometimes if they take you to a couple temples, a couple buddhas and in between take you to a suit shop.....they get a gas coupon, you get a couple hr tour guide for 20baht.....make sure though you negotiate before you depart. Also, if you know where you want to go and how much it should cost be adament that they dont stop anywhere....no stop, no stop.......50 baht!
Good Luck!
