most medieval of cities?

The books say this city is one of the most original of its old days - and so lots of movies are made here requiring old settings - but i didnt really see the mostly medieval of cities here!! i have been to loads others more medieval and with character - but i did enjoy my quick visit.
particularly the visit to restaurant done in old communist styly - excellent food and service.

Jewish History

Pros and Cons

Pros:impressive castle - very moving to visit the Jewish quarter and learn of the history and Krakow and Polands loss with the murder of its Jewish population, great food! buses are very cheap!
Cons:rained most of the weekend....and the bus to and from Zakopane turned its heaters off for the trip!
In a nutshell:well worth a visit - significant history to discover in the history of Europe

Day trip to Zakopane Off The Beaten Path (1)

In December when there for a winter visit to see snow there was no snow in Krakow...informed this was very unusual - and... more travel advice

good value price near centre Hotels (1)

bit expensive but good clean safe accommodation - good security - and nice service - sheets changed each day and a small... more travel advice

Angie, lovely little page about Krakow. Like you I also once took a daytrip by bus to Zakopane in wintertime - Happy new year 2012.
