Restaurant Name: Kiss Me Hardy - also called Wacky Warehouse
Its a good deal when you want to eat out somewhere fairly quick and non complicated! This place is in a handy spot for us on Sundays so its a good option in addition to the All-you-can-eat for £6 place we also have near us!! There a number of these restaurants in this Two for One chain around England - my latest brochure doesnt list the addresses as other brochures ive had do - but theyve included their website so try looking that up to see if theres one near you! The one we go to is at Colliers Wood. ie www.thespiritgroup.com
Favorite Dish: The Sunday roast - excellent deal for a good beef, chicken or lamb roast with all the british requirements of stuffing, Yorkshire pudding and gravy - but i am not British and i dont get into the Yorkish pudding but many do and here it is - Two for the price of One- which is £9.35 for two meals. I like the rump steak or the sirloin steak meals with really good chips and tomato sauce! for £9.85 and £10.95 respectively - or during summer they have a summer menu addition including tempting meals such as king prawn kebabs on salad. Its a great place to sit with friends and catch up over a good meal deal - the drinks are a bit expensive - and the place can be a bit noisy (with so many friends and families having a meal out especially on the Sundays weve tended to have turned up at this place to eat) but there are non smoking areas available which is a bonus in pub type restaurants these days though from July 1 the no smoking ban anywhere indoors will come into force!!

Restaurant Name: the R.S. Hispaniola
Relatives were visiting here in London so a cousin who was already here set about finding something special for us to meet and eat at - and this was a rather nice way to have a London meal! The Hispaniola is docked on the Thames near to the Embankment tube station and Hungerford Bridge so very central to transport plus plenty of black cabs going past. Great views across to the London Eye and both up and down river. The service was very good and attentive, we had background piano playing and the amenities were all clean and stylish. and the menu was great! Some really interesting choices such as Wild pork, Marlin, Venison, Scottish salmon..... with some excellent entrees too and great wine list.
Favorite Dish: The menu choice was great - we all greatly enjoyed our entree, main and dessert - but cant remember what i had! We were taken out for this meal so werent having to fork the bill but it was average about £15-20 for a main and about average £35 a head for each of us for the whole lot - so really it was good value for a lovely location and ambience.

Restaurant Name: Limon Shish and Mezze, Wimbledon
Brought here by a friend today who lives around the corner and knows this place well and loves the food and the price. For an interesting twist on a bargain dish this place offers deals such as their lovely soup of the day (which was delicious!! - Red Lentil soup) with goats cheese, olives and divine smelling bread as accompaniments. Followed by , just my style, a selection of 4 mezzes from their list of cold and hot mezzes (like tapas i guess - small entree size servings of Turkish dishes or foods - such as youghurt with sweet red pepper, hot fried calamari, vineleaf wraps with rice and lemon ie dolmades, chickpeas with various accompaniments, aubergine, falafel etc - you will have to go check it out for the full appetising list) served around a small serving of salad and a warm and flavoursome rice dish. All this for only £5.90. Credit cards accepted. We added a huge coffee and a huge tea and combined it came to £15.90. Open hours Mon-Sat 12-2300 Sundays 12-2200
Favorite Dish: I loved the Red Lentil soup! Cant wait to get the opportunity to go back again and try some other mezzes on the list!

Restaurant Name: Galileo's
Evening meal deals - 2 courses for £10.95, 3 courses £13.95 - for a nice choice of mains and desserts
Favorite Dish: The fried pork fillet - very nice. The Tiramisu was almost as good as my good Italian friend's home made tiramisu - but not quite!

There were 3 of us - we shared 2 packs of salmon and prawn with rocket salad wraps and 2 slices of 2 different cakes plus 3 cappucinos (which were actually rather small - maybe half the size of a normal cup) for £1.90 each - altogether came to a total of £20.10. All we chose were actually delicious but the point is being rather expensive especially if putting it into Australian dollars where my relatives were just visiting the UK from made it an amazing price - the exchange rate at the moment is £1 = $2.04AUD - but was for a long time when I first got here $2.80AUD to the £1. But considering the main galleries are free admission with entrance charge only for visiting exhibitions the cafe price is a good quality service and a good way to obtain user pay funds to the museum.
