I was advised by my guidebooks that Trento, the Capital of the region which gives it its name, is the most attractive town in Trentino.
I found it a lovely city, with impressive frescoed buildings and palaces, narrow streets and cobblestones, surrounded by snow topped mountains. And an impressive castle with 13th century art worthy of the World heritage list!
- Pros:lots of lovely buildings here in this town, the 14th century paintings to see in the Castle, great views of Trento surrounded by mountains from Sardagna up on a mountain above
- Cons:theres a better on your budget hostel here but its not advertised!

Thanks for showing me some of the things I missed by not getting off the train in Trento. Maybe next time I can have a proper visit.
Angie, lovely little page about Trento here. I am glad to read that the Hostel is listed in the Rough Guide which is my prefered guide anyway.
The Youth Hostel is in via Torrevanga; not Torrevange. The link to the castle web site is www.buonconsiglio.it. Ciao!
A stunning photo of the vineyards against the backdrop of the forbidding mountains. Breakfast looks good!
Lovely pics Angie, I especially liked the one taken of the view through the cloisters at the Castello :-) Marion x.
Lovely photos and nice tip on the B&B. It's interesting the owner puts church above business. But of course, you get that, especially in small, family-run places. Thanks for sharing!
Am loving your photographs. We are going to Italy next year, so they are fuel for the fire! Thanks.
Great start here, Angie! Lovely photos - Trento looks very scenic against a beautiful backdrop of mountains and clear blue skies! That guesthouse sounds like a real find in a nice peaceful setting. Looking forward to seeing more...
Waaw, that apartment looks absolutely perfect to relax 100%.
