One of my favourites drives in Morocco is the Dades Gorges road - it has so much in that one main road, so much variety of scenes, so much colour, and provides an excellent look at local life.
The road follows the fertile oasis and plantation areas along the river with villages, kasbahs, rather contemporary or splendid homes with people out in the fields or orchards, or along the road sides on their donkeys or larger beasts, or being the beasts of burdens themselves laden with cuttings for feeding their animals at home.
The geographics change with low valley walls to dramatic cuts in the mountain sides to eroded rock shapes and then up to the Dade Gorges themselves, cuts into the orange earth and then this time we drive on further all the way to Msemrir.
Through to Msemrir the road starts to incline up and up and round and round and then takes you to look over deep down into window narrow valleys below. Still with its green fertile crop areas and orchards.
- Pros:stunning variety of scenery and peoples along a leisurely drive
- Cons:can be quite slow, especially having to get out of the car so many times for this shot and that shot...!
- In a nutshell:well recommended, excellent value for time

I read about the Dades Gorges in your intro page, but that didn't prepare me for the 'wow' effect when they're seen in your photos.
Your love affair with Morocco is obvious - the place looks fascinating and your photos are excellent. Thanks for sharing.

I never had any idea that such landscape could be covered with snow.
Love that picture in your first tip. It looks spectacular.
