The Grand Old Duke of York

This hill is meant to be the hill in the nursery rhyme that the Grand Old Duke of York marched 10,000 men up and down again.....Cassel the village on top was certainly a well worth place to spend some time enjoying walking around the cute buildings in the village up cobbled streets to the old chateau and windmill on top of the hill and admire the views over the French Flemish countryside.

Amazing food.....

We parked in the cobbled main street and walked along past a few restaurants' advertising signs and this one took our fancy....Le Haute Brasserie/Haut Bonheur de la Table

made from local produce the dishes we chose were just incredibly delicious and very beautifully presented...the service was lovely - we all thought unanimously that our meal was worth far more than the 20 euro each we averaged for starter, main and dessert plus glass of wine!....really made our day out!
