Was lucky enohg to be there for the celebration !

1995 came and went, and the air carrier I was working in Micronesia gave me a gift.
As a crew member I went as part of a fleet of 3 Boeing 727's flying veterans, news people, National Geographic Society people, etc. etc. to the celebration of the fifthieth anniversary of the Battle of Iwo Jima ! .
Didn't participate in the celebration, nor attended it, but from a distance I got everything.
The japanese governor was playing golf and "that delayed our departure". Another issue from the japanese government was that they confiscated all the passports until departure, threw them on a big box, so by the time to go, everyone was searching for his/her passport, that was a mess ! .

Pros and Cons

Pros:The celebration, participated in a piece of history ! .
Cons:the passport confiscation and the delay on departure off the rock ! .
In a nutshell:I was just lucky ! .

Uh excuse me sir, but all this talk about IWO JIMA, and I don't see proof of pictures. Are you trying to pull the wool over our eyes or did those magic mushrooms finally kick in?
