The Vatican City, smallest nation in Europe. To be honest, it does not feel like you have crossed a border from Italy - no "Welcome to the Vatican" or other signs that I noticed.

Treeeemendous architecture!! All the photographs and guidebooks in the world cannot prepare you for the real thing. I am not a religious person at all, but the interior of St Peter's Church was so incredible it almost converted me to Catholicism :-)

It all illustrates how rich and powerful the Catholic Church used to be.

Unfortunately the long queues and the opening hours meant I never got inside the Pope's other buildings to see the Sistine Chapel and his collection of Renaissance Art. Another time maybe...

Well I came looking for your fabulous art and only found a photo. Hmph! However we visited at around the same time and I didn't do the climb.........yep, claustrophobia and a fear of heights. Ah well! Thank you.
