"London - verrry BIG city in southeast England" London by aaaarrgh
London Travel Guide: 26,555 reviews and 43,845 photos
Hard to avoid. I have been visiting and staying in London regularly since I was 5 years old! What fun was had, walking dogs in Holland Park, beach-combing for hat-pins at Blackfriars and even walking the family tortoises outside Kew Gardens! So in theory I should know the place well. Maybe not so much as a tourist!!
In my view, London is a super place, quite wonderful, stimulating, lively and exciting!! The breadth of nationalities and cultures is immense. The city has many, many world famous attractions and a wealth of hidden treasures. New attractions, well worth a look, are appearing on the scene - the 'Millennium Eye', The Tate Modern Art Gallery, the annual Serpentine Pavilion in Hyde Park...
There are already many thousands of London tips on Virtual Tourist. I have no intention of writing tips on every place I have visited. Instead, I only recommend places or events I particularly like. Hope they are helpful!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Pros:Most people go here, lots live here and many great things happen here
- Cons:Noisy, dirty, tourist overload, overhyped, dangerous in places, mayor is a buffoon
- In a nutshell:Of course a great city and worth a serious visit but avoid the many tourist traps

Hello, Sean! Thanks for your brilliant page about the Great World City!
Meeting you without realizing it. That's the bl....dy limit! Don't tell me you were that guy that almost fainted, haha. PJ
Your tips are ... colorful :)
Excellent tip. Thank you for this.
Are you gonna be at the London meeting next week Sean??
:)..
It is great to learn more about London even after my visit as the Alison Lapper statue (I was wondering what was the purpose of this monument). Thanks for the quality of your London review with good sense of humour.
any accomodation tips? best (read: cheapest, but not dodgy) areas to stay?
Sean, fabulous new restaurant tip. I cross my fingers for your upcoming busy studies ... :o)
I didn't know about the statue of Dodi & Diana in Harrods, nor about the annual pavilion contest in Hyde Park! Thanks for some great info on London - I really ought to go again soon! Marion.
