We found ourselves at the Mogodi more through accident than anything else: it was about the only place with a vacancy, even though it was a little pricier than we might have liked. That said, we had, what was in effect a bungalow all to ourselves. There was a restaurant, which had quite decent food at reasonable prices, available on-site as well as a pool just outside our door. Unhappily, being mid-winter, we didn't take advantage of the facility...
The room was very roomy with two double beds, TV, and a very well-appointed bathroom. Typically for South Africa, there was NO central heating. Although we did have an electric heater that looked like a radiator, it may as well have been a free-standing sculture for all the good it did us. That said, there were plenty of blankets and extra pillows, so we didn't suffer any more than we did anywhere else during the trip.
Unique Qualities: Two things stand out about the Mogodi: First, it's located right at the edge of the Graskop Gorge with the falls and a bizarre sort of "cable car" -- more of a bosun's chair, actually -- that will carry you, for a very reasonable fee across the 100meter width of the three or four hundred meter deep gorge!
Second: the place has its own mini-church. Why? I have no idea; I didn't ask, either!
